Trauma Counseling

You just can’t shake it. Those feelings. Those thoughts. Those memories. It’s like you are trapped inside of them, and you can’t find a way out. You find yourself on edge, ready to fight or run away at the first sign of danger. You feel like you are on the verge of collapse because your body is running so tight and at such a high level, you can’t seem to calm it down. You can’t find rest.
The danger has passed, but you still feel threatened and unsafe. The ups and downs of life are more intense for you than you remember, than other people experience. Your foundation is shaken.
You avoid places like the plague, or even people. Certain sights, sounds, especially smells, they destroy you. Trying new things? Forget it! Your friends question asking you to join them anymore because you always have an excuse. Your family says you are overreacting. You blame yourself for what happened, thinking there is something wrong with you. You are stuck.
Whether it was a medical treatment, family difficulties, an accident, abuse, the pandemic, or the sudden loss of a loved one, it is hard to recover after you have felt so out of control.

This is your opportunity to heal.

You may not how why you are stuck. You may not know how to heal and grow. That’s okay! All you need are the following three things:Compassion for yourself, to meet your own need for safety.Curiosity to ask questions and understand what is going on.Courage to try something different.
It will take some work, but you can do this. You will do this. And you won’t do it alone. I will walk with you to help you find your way.
My focus when working with the pain of trauma is to get you connected to yourself again. In our sessions, you will find ways to grow out of these patterns that hurt your life. We will work with your thoughts, you emotions, and your body to help you find healing. I will help you get control of your life.
Imagine yourself, standing here, knowing what happened to you, and using it to see your own power, so that you can move on. You will find yourself again. You will be free from your past.
You can do this. You can walk this journey, one step at a time. I will walk by your side, helping you to see your own strength, and to find your own peace and safety.

I am certified Clinical Trauma Professional. With my training and experience, I have worked with individuals and couples who have experienced different forms of childhood trauma, sexual trauma, physical trauma, emotional trauma, and generational trauma. I am a firm believer in the need for counselors to continue educating themselves around the clinical issue of trauma, especially when serving those who struggle with it.

I offer a free 20-minute consultation for those interested in counseling services. It will give you a chance to describe your particular issue, ask any questions about my experience, and help you feel more comfortable with me.

Deep in your wounds are seeds, waiting to grow into beautiful flowers.
